The progress continues in Phase 1A of the 76 Revitalization Program with the City of Branson beginning a new construction area to bury utilities on the north side of West Highway 76 at the Branson Ferris Wheel. As a result of this construction, the westbound lane of Highway 76 will be closed to traffic beginning Wednesday, December 7, from the Ferris wheel (3345 Highway 76) east to The Dream Theater (3307 Highway 76). Barricades and signs will safely divert motorists to the center lane of Highway 76 in the construction zone as well as a safe pathway for pedestrian traffic. The installation of a new waterline and utility conduits is expected to take about two weeks to complete. Access to all businesses in this zone will remain open.Meanwhile, the current construction zone on the north side of Highway 76 at Rosalee Street westward across the Hall of Fame Hotel property will be expanded to Francis Street. The City is expected to complete the underground utility conduit installation in front of the Hall of Fame Hotel next week, but will keep moving west to Francis. As this work continues westward, the barriers and signs closing the westbound lane and directing traffic to the center lane will also move to safely reroute motorists as well as pedestrians around the construction zone. As always, the City will maintain access to businesses in this area open during construction.
