Branson Performer Kirsten Hart Fills City of Branson Ward II Board Vacancy
On Tuesday September 13, the vacant City of Branson Ward II Board position was filled by Mrs. Kirsten Hart. After a 4-1 vote by the sitting Board of Aldermen, Hart was sworn in by Branson City Clerk to fill the seat of former Ward II Alderman Patrick Parnell who retired last month.
“We welcome Alderwoman Hart to the City of Branson Board of Alderman, and are thankful for her desire to serve the city in this capacity through April of 2017,” says City of Branson Mayor Karen Best. “I am very excited about the knowledge that she brings as it relates to the entertainment industry, a key offering in our tourism-focused economy for which we must work together to ensure its future.”
A native of New York, Alderwoman Kirsten Hart is an author, speaker and singer who relocated to Branson seven years ago from Colorado Springs, Colorado. According to Alderwoman Hart “I am thrilled to serve as an Alderwoman for Ward 2 as I am very passionate about maintaining the heritage of downtown Branson, while embracing positive advances towards economic growth and vitality for future generations. Branson is my home, which I consider a great honor. I will do my best to be mindful of those issues most important to our citizens and strive to make decisions that have a positive impact on the community.”
Alderwoman Kirsten Hart has been married for twenty-six years to her loving husband Dave, and together they have two adult sons, a daughter-in-law and a grandson. Since relocating to Branson seven years ago, the couple have been performing as singers in Branson shows with Dino Kartsonakis and ‘Oh Happy Day Goin’ Back to Gospel’. Their son Tyler is an active duty Sergeant in the U.S. Army, currently deployed and serving our country in Iraq. Their youngest son Ryan is a Video Production Specialist living in Israel as he works with the International Christian Embassy there.
“As a professional speaker, I am privileged to travel the country speaking to women’s groups. Everywhere I go, people express their love of Branson,” Alderwoman Hart adds. “I’m an Army mom so I have a deep love for all things military, and am proud of all that Branson does to recognize and honor veterans.”
Prior to swearing in Ward II Alderwoman Kirsten Hart on September 13, the procedure to fill an unexpired term of an Alderman was discussed during the August 23 Board meeting. Alderwoman Hart will fill the unexpired term of former Alderman Patrick Parnell which is set to expire April 2017.
