Branson Teen Killed in Car Accident

A teenager from Branson was killed in two car accident early Tuesday morning. Emergency responders from Branson Fire and Police Departments along with Taney County Paramedics were dispatched to the car accident on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway near the entrance to the Sight and Sound Theater.

Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered two cars involved in what appeared to be a t-bone type accident. “Firefighters immediately began life-saving efforts on a teenager found unresponsive in a passenger car,” stated Fire Chief Ted Martin. Emergency crews also rendered aid to the driver of the second car involved in the accident who was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Taney County Coroner Kevin Tweedy released the name of the teenager identified as 17 year old Wyatt Keith Snider, a senior at Branson High School.

Branson Police were on scene to investigate the cause of the accident. “We closed the road for approximately four hours so emergency crews could safely work the accident scene and allow our accident investigation officers to re-construct the incident,” stated Assistant Police Chief Eric Schmidtt.

Branson Schools is activating their crisis team to assist their students. Shepherd of the Hills Expressway was reopened for traffic flow shortly after 11 am.
