Branson's 76 Inn Relocation Team Creates Plan to Help Guests at 76 Inn

Tuesday morning, officials with the City of Branson, Taney County Health Department, and Salvation Army came up with a plan to help the guests of Branson’s 76 Inn relocate after the power to motel was shut off a short time on Monday.

After trying to work with the out-of-state owners of the motel for two months to keep the power account in good standing, and several notifications, White River Valley Electric Cooperative (WRVEC) shut the power off to the motel Monday morning. At the time about 50 rooms were being rented, some with children and elderly.

Branson city and community partners acted quickly, working with WRVEC to get the power back on, temporarily so a plan could be put into place to relocate residents. This gives the City and the guests time to make arrangements for those that will be displaced. If the 76 Inn’s WRVEC account is still not in good standing by Friday, the power will be shut off again.

The relocation team anticipates a three stage moving plan that would involve relocating residents in all 50 rooms.  The move is planned for Wednesday through Friday, beginning with the elderly, families and those with medical needs.  Representatives from the team will be at the facility today notifying residents of the closure and assessing their needs. The team is comprised of Taney County Health officials who will address any health issues, Branson City Officials, Branson Police and Branson’s Animal Control officers who will address any pets that might need temporary shelter.

During this time, guests are the main priority and the relocation team will continue working to help them in any way possible while relocating.

The 76 Inn relocation team will meet again tonight at 4pm at City Hall to assess the situation and move forward with the three stage moving plan.
