The City of Branson Thanks Utility Director for 30-years!

Branson Director of Utilities, Mike Ray celebrates 30-years with the City of Branson.

Ray is dedicated to providing safe, high quality drinking water and to producing high quality effluent from received wastewater to protect our lakes. Mike dedicates many hours to the City to ensure the Utilities Department runs as smoothly as possible.

Ray started work with the City of Branson in 1988 as a maintenance operator in wastewater facilities and worked his way up in the Public Works Department. Ray has held the position of Utilities Director since 2010.

Ray has initiated a great maintenance program to assist with fewer "emergencies" in all city divisions.  He is also responsible for initiating a new "operator trainee" program.  This program gives people employment opportunities that would not usually have such opportunities in the water and wastewater career.

Ray has embraced new technology and has been enthusiastic in moving the whole department into the 21st Century. The automated water meter program that was initiated by staff and moved forward by Ray has saved tax payers several thousand dollars in lost water.

Those who work with him describe him as a great leader, a hard worker and someone who always puts his employees first. The City of Branson thanks Mike Ray for his continued dedication to Branson for 30 years.
