Branson Seeking Public Feedback before Updating Building Codes

The City of Branson is hosting two open house forums as an opportunity for you to provide input, ask questions, or share any concerns regarding upcoming building code changes. City staff is currently reviewing the 2018 International Code Council (ICC) building codes for possible adoption later this year. The City currently utilizes and enforces the 2015 ICC codes to establish a compliance process for constructing safe, sustainable, affordable and resilient structures.

The City of Branson encourages anyone to attend the open house forums. Representatives from Branson building, fire and utilities departments will be there to share what the significant changes will be and to hear any concerns from you. The following two forums will provide a “come and go” format, so you are welcome to simply drop in at your convenience and stay as long as your time allows.

  • Tuesday, June 26th (10am – 2pm)
  • Wednesday, June 27th (10am – 2pm)

These forums will be held in the Planning & Development Conference Room located on the second floor of City Hall (110 W. Maddux St.), across the hall from the Council Chambers. If you are unable to attend either of the forums listed above, please feel free to call the Planning & Development office (417-337-8547) to schedule a separate time to visit with us about the updates or to provide us your thoughts over the phone. We will also gladly accept your emails.

For your reference, the following is a list of the codes proposed to be adopted along with local amendments:

  • 2018 International Building Code (IBC)
