City of Branson Opens City Hall to Boating Incident Victims

The City of Branson has opened up City Hall for any of the victims, family members and survivors of the tragic boat incident on Table Rock Lake that occurred around 7:00 pm on July 19, 2018. While this incident happened outside the city limits of Branson, and the City of Branson is not involved in the investigation, City Officials have set up a command post to assist in communication and the comfort of all involved. This includes bringing in support from chaplains, the Red Cross as well as Mayor of Branson, Karen Best, Branson Fire Chief, Ted Martin, Branson Police Chief Jeff Matthews, Branson City Administrator, Stan Dobbins and Lt. George Knowles with the Missouri Highway Patrol.

This is a very trying time for all those who are involved. The City of Branson may be small in size but it is big at its heart, which is why City Officials wanted to extend a helping hand and a strong shoulder.

The City has set up a phone number specifically for concerned family members of those who may be involved. That number is (417) 337-8515.

We thank everyone for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support and willingness to help their fellow neighbors during this tough time. It is a true testament to the character and spirit of the residents of Branson and Southwest Missouri. We ask that people respect the privacy of the victims and their families at this time as all of us walk through this process.

Please contact the Stone County Sheriff’s office or the Missouri Highway Patrol for information regarding the boat incident and the investigation.
