The City of Branson Tree Board has chosen Grand Country Resort, located at 1945 West Hwy 76, for August’s Beautification Award. Grand Country Resort has been owned by Glenn Robinson since 1971 when he began selling Mexican pottery in the parking lot. He went from selling from his pickup to a tent and finally into a shop that is now known as the “Fun Spot”.
Today, the Grand Country Resort includes a 319 room hotel, indoor waterpark, three mini-golf courses, Grand Country Buffet, Grand Country Music Hall, a two-story arcade and entertainment center, pizza buffet, custard, and fudge shop, along with the world’s largest fiddle and banjo.
Beautification Awards are presented on a monthly basis between May and October to commercial properties in Branson that take pride in and showcase its landscape. The criteria for nominations are:
1) A commercial property located within the Branson city limits
2) Landscaped area must be highly visible to the general public
Nominations may be submitted by contacting City Planner, Amy Jackson at 417-337-8568 or by email: ajackson@bransonmo.gov
