Public Safety Sales Tax Helps Fill Firefighter Positions

Fire Department Badge

The Branson Fire Department will host a Firefighter Badge Pinning Ceremony, celebrating the promotions of several firefighters, on Friday, December 14 at 5:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall at the Branson First Baptist Church on South Sunshine Street.

This ceremony will recognize the three new Battalion Chief positions filled this fall thanks to funding provided by the new Public Safety Tax – as promised!  Each of these Battalion Chiefs are assigned to supervise one of the three 24-hour shifts of fire department operations personnel.

These positions were filled by qualified internal candidates and this subsequently opened up Captain and Engineer Positions. The fire personnel studied and prepared for positions they were qualified for. All positions are now filled, including the vacancies for Firefighters caused by the promotions. Those being pinned at the ceremony include:

BATTALION CHIEFS:  Joshua Boehm, Scott Cizek, and Chris Morgan

CAPTAINS:  Jason Bruck, Jeff Duckworth, and Nathanael Jones

ENGINEERS:  Markus Blevins, Heath Hudson, and Jared Novak

The Badge Pinning Ceremony will last about an hour.
