Planning & Development - "Community Development"
The Planning and Development Department is composed of four Divisions: the Planning Division, Building Division, Engineering Divison, and Code Division. Each division is designed to ensure the efficient use of land within the City and to provide its residents with a safe, livable, and functional community.
The Building Division is responsible for the areas of plan review and construction inspection. Construction inspection enforces the minimum standards adopted by the Board of Aldermen for construction inside the city limits of Branson. These standards regulate construction from a public safety, health, and welfare aspect. They also work to secure safety to life and property from all hazards incident to the occupancy of building structures or premises.
The Planning Division The Planning Division is responsible for helping the community to implement and update its Community Plan 2030. In doing so, they assist community members with their requests for annexation, zoning, special uses, special events, and any other request needing to go before the Board of Aldermen, Planning Commission or Board of Adjustment.

Code Enforcement Division
The Code Enforcement Division promotes, maintains, and enforces ordinances and laws to preserve, protect, and enhance the quality of life for the citizens and visitors of Branson. Code Enforcement efforts are pivotal in preventing, monitoring, and resolving conditions in the environment that pose a threat or that may be detrimental to the health and well-being of residents and visitors.
GIS (Geographic Information System)
GIS (Geographic Information System) manages the GIS for the benefit of the city and its citizens. The computer based maps provide the information critical for proper planning and preliminary design work to assist in the development of street, property, aerial, zoning, and other types of city maps available to the public
