City of Branson Taking Action in Response to COVID-19

Branson Logo City of Branson - NEWSFLASH

The health and safety of our residents, community members, and visitors is our number one priority. The City of Branson is taking precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community and minimize its impact.

The following are changes to our daily operations or steps that the City of Branson is making at City Hall that the Branson community should be aware of:

  • The City of Branson supports Missouri Governor’s State of Emergency restricting groups of over fifty people. The declaration does not apply to businesses, daycares, or learning institutions.
  • Branson Mayor, Edd Akers and the Board of Aldermen are meeting tonight at 4 p.m. for a closed executive session to discuss the next steps to keep our community safe and healthy. We will release any information that comes out of that meeting to the public.
  • City staff, including Branson Utilities, are working to eliminate the need for our citizens to have to come into City Hall to pay water bills with electronic measures as well as with our drive-up payment box on the Southside of City Hall. The City is also encouraging the use of our new on-line building plan submittal system for those in the construction industry.
  • The Parks & Recreation Department has closed the Branson Community Center for meetings but is still providing much-needed meals to those that rely on the food from the Center by delivering food to those individuals.
  • Each of our 13 departments, including Public Works & Engineering, Municipal Court, Police, and Fire are working to identify all areas where we can reduce person to person contact.
  • The City is encouraging all restaurants and banks to utilize drive-through services only.
  • The City encourages all residents to check on neighbors, especially the elderly.

Branson’s Chamber of Commerce’s website is updating daily, here with local businesses that are open or closed or on a reduced schedule.

The City of Branson also supports the Taney County government, the Branson Public School District, the Branson Chamber of Commerce and other community organizations which have made or are making hard decisions with the intent to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and minimize its impact on our community.

The City of Branson will continue to work in coordination with our partner agencies, as well as the state and federal government, to monitor this evolving situation and to ensure our response actions are based on the latest facts. We will communicate updates to the Branson community as the situation changes and as we make additional decisions regarding our local response.
